In dieser Kategorie finden sich alle Ansichtskarten mit Ansichten von Apolda. Die Stadt gliedert sich in die Ortsteile Apolda, Herressen-Sulzbach, Nauendorf, Oberndorf, Oberroßla-Rödigsdorf, Schöten, Utendorf und Zottelstedt.
Die Stadt liegt im Osten Thüringens, die Ilm fließt durch sie hindurch. Die Landschaft um die Stadt herum wird hauptsächlich landwirtschaftlich genutzt und ist entsprechend geprägt.
Aufgrund der über 250-jährigen Tradition des Glockengießens wird Apolda als „Glockenstadt“ bezeichnet. Hier wurde auch die Hunderasse Dobermann gezüchtet, der ein Denkmal gewidmet ist.
Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten zählen das Schloss, die Martinskirche, die alte Glockengießerei, der Viadukt sowie der Bürgerbrunnen auf dem Markt. Neben der typisch thüringischen Spezialitäz Rostbratwurst ist auch das knäckebrotähnliche Gebäck Filinchen weit verbreitet.
