Heinrich Kley (born April 15, 1863 in Karlsruhe; died 2 August 1945 Munich)

Heinrich Kley was famous for his drawings in the magazine “Jugend” or “Simplicissimus” appeared. By 1900, he painted landscapes and urban scenes for postcards from various regions of Germany and Austria. It is astonishing that Kley is almost unknown in Germany today, however, but in the U.S. is still a household name. One reason for this probably has put Walt Disney, which invests over decades, a large collection of works by Heinrich Kley and Kley processed many images in his cartoons. Similar to Paul Hey and Zeno Diemer Kley was also responsible for the renowned Munich art publishing by Ottmar Zieher.
